DESCRIPTION:Technical Grading Level 1 & 2 \nLocation: St Albans Judo Club \nDate: 28th June 2025 \nTimes: 10:00 – 13:00 Technical Grading One ; 13:00 – 17:00 Technical Grading Two \nCost: £20 for either course or £30 for both \nCourse Description: \nTechnical Grading One – The aim of this module is to deliver\, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 1st to 9th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent in order that coaches can confidently prepare and grade players Novice to 6th Mon and Novice to 5th Kyu. \nTechnical Grading Two -The aim of this module is to deliver\, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 10th to 18th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent\, in order that BJA Level 2 coaches can confidently prepare and grade players for all Mon and Kyu grades. \nPlease note that without this module all BJA Level 2 coaches qualifying after January 2013 will not be able to grade players. \nRevalidation Course Suitable for All Level of Coaches \nThis is a British Judo Association Licenced Coach Education/Revalidation Course

DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED – please email courseadmin@britishjudo.org.uk to be added to the reserve list\nThe BJA Level 1 award is the starting point for your coaching journey in judo.\nIf you are new to coaching judo\, have limited coaching knowledge or want to get more involved in your club\, then this is the course for you. \nThe course focuses on the ‘how to coach skills’ using practical technical examples (where relevant) to apply these skills; basic technical principles of ne-waza and tachi-waza; health and safety; and basic judo rules. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a British Judo Association Level 1 coaching award and will be equipped to work under supervision of BJA Level 2 or higher valid coach on any relevant coaching sessions. Once they have turned 18 years of age\, a BJA Level 1 coach may\, upon the discretion of BJA Level 2 or higher valid coach\, also work independently under supervised instruction. \nThe course will run across 2 separate days\, you will need to attend both. \nVenue: York RI Judo Club\, Queen Street\,  York YO24 1AD \nDay One: 8th June 2025 \nDay Two / Assessment: 6th July 2025 \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 16 years of age\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 2nd Kyu Grade\nHave a good knowledge of the British Judo Mon and Kyu Grade Syllabi\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete a Portfolio Tasks within six month of their assessment. SUMMARY:British Judo 1st4Sport Level Two Coaching Course: 7th and 8th June\, 5th and 6th July and 17th August 2025 - York
DESCRIPTION:The 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Coaching Judo is the second step on British Judo’s coaching pathway.\nThis course aims to provide candidates with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching judo to adults and children. \nIf you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club\, then this is the course for you. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching award and will be equipped to deliver sessions independently and work alongside a 1st4Sport Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. 1st4Sport Level 2 coaches are also able to set up their own judo club(s).  \nThe course will run on two weekends. \nWeekend 1: 7th and 8th June 2025\nWeekend 2: 5th and 6th July 2025 \n(Assessment Day: 17th August 2025) \nVenue: York RI Judo Club\, Queen Street\, York YO24 1AD \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 18 years old\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade\nIt is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete the 15 module programme\, a mock assessment and a personal action planning process as part of the training. This will be followed by a period of extended study and logged coaching practice prior to the final assessment.
