DESCRIPTION:The 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Coaching Judo is the second step on British Judo’s coaching pathway.\nThis course aims to provide candidates with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching judo to adults and children. \nIf you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club\, then this is the course for you. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching award and will be equipped to deliver sessions independently and work alongside a 1st4Sport Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. 1st4Sport Level 2 coaches are also able to set up their own judo club(s).  \nThe course will run on two weekends starting at 09:00am \nWeekend 1: 19th and 20th September 2026\nWeekend 2: 17th and 18th October 2026 \n(Assessment Day: 15th November 2026) \nVenue: Samurai Judo Club\, Zotech Avenue\, Kidderminster DY11 7DY \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 18 years old\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade\nIt is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete the 15 module programme\, a mock assessment and a personal action planning process as part of the training. This will be followed by a period of extended study and logged coaching practice prior to the final assessment. DESCRIPTION:Referee education modules are suitable for those candidates who wish to gain the knowledge and theoretical qualification for their next level referee award. The modules are also suitable for participants who have no intent to become a referee but do wish to improve their knowledge of refereeing. \nClub\, Area\, Nat C module is focussed on process\, signals\, control and other general referee responsibilities\, attendees are expected to know basic principles commensurate with their belt grade before attending as this will be needed. \nThe module will end with a theory examination\, some of which will be elements you should already know before the course and mostly on the skills you have acquired during the module. The practical element will be done separately at an assigned event identified by the tutor / your coach.
