BJA recognised\, ideal for coaches\, volunteers\, and club welfare leads. \nTo book onto First Aid for Judo (BJA recognised)\, we just need:\nFull name\nAge (learners must be age-appropriate for the course)\nJudo club (and role if relevant: coach/parent/volunteer)\nPrior first aid knowledge is recommended but not required — we’ll cover everything you need on the day\, step-by-step\, with judo-specific scenarios. \nPlease be aware the course sometimes covers real-life emergencies and injuries\, which some people may find upsetting. If at any point you need a pause\, that’s absolutely fine.\nIt’s also a practical session\, so you’ll need to be able to take part in physical activities such as CPR on the floor (kneeling/bending down and getting back up).\nWhat to wear: comfortable clothing you can move in (sportswear is ideal). DESCRIPTION:British Judo are pleased to offer a Rules Seminar primarily for referees and coaches\, it is mainly designed to disseminate the confirmed contest rules of 2026 and reinforce the key contest rules that are not changed. \nThe British seminar will include international referees at the sharp end on international duty. \nFurther to the IJF steer for the rules in 2026\, British Judo will disseminate this guidance using feedback from the Paris Grand Slam in February 2026 as clarity for the delivery. \nGBR encourage referees and coaches to work together to understand the interpretation principles more thoroughly to establish what is really happening and therefore the limits of what is allowed or not and why\, this will help referees to manage contests more accurately and help coaches to educate their athletes for compliance with the applicable rule set. SUMMARY:Kodokan Koshiki No Kata - 22 Mar 26 - Rochdale
DESCRIPTION:The aim of this course is to introduce players to Koshiki-No-Kata (Forms of Antiquity). This kata preserves the classical techniques of Judo as derived from Kito-Ryu Jujutsu and demonstrates the principles of balance\, posture\, and efficient movement\, originally practiced in amour. \nKoshiki-No-Kata consists of two sets: \n\nOmote (Front Forms)\nUra (Rear Forms)\n\nTogether\, these sets contain 21 techniques\, illustrating fundamental concepts such as control of centre\, timing\, use of gravity\, and adaptation to an armored opponent. The course provides an excellent opportunity to deepen understanding of classical Judo principles\, historical context\, and advanced kata practice. \nThis is a British Judo Association Licensed Coach Education Course and is worth one credit. \nThe course is limited to 20 places due to the size of the tatami. \nEligibility requirements: \n\nCurrent FULL BJA membership\nMinimum grade of 3rd Kyu (Green Belt)\n\nParticipants are ideally encouraged to attend with a partner to practice with; however\, we will endeavour to pair up individuals where required. \nFurther information available from: seannuttall@hotmail.co.uk \nThis is a British Judo Licenced Coach Education / Revalidation Course
