DESCRIPTION:The 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Coaching Judo is the second step on British Judo’s coaching pathway.\nThis course aims to provide candidates with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching judo to adults and children. \nIf you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club\, then this is the course for you. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching award and will be equipped to deliver sessions independently and work alongside a 1st4Sport Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. 1st4Sport Level 2 coaches are also able to set up their own judo club(s).  \nThe course will run on two weekends starting at 10am. \nWeekend 1: 2nd and 3rd August 2025\nWeekend 2: 13th and 14th September 2025 \nAssessment Day: 12th October 2025 \nVenue: Dartford Judo Club Club Cotton Lane\, Stone\, Dartford DA2 6PD \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 18 years old\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade\nIt is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete the 15 module programme\, a mock assessment and a personal action planning process as part of the training. This will be followed by a period of extended study and logged coaching practice prior to the final assessment. DESCRIPTION:This module is designed to help club coaches teach club members the basics of coaching\, officiating and refereeing to a level where the member will be able to assist the coach in a club environment at pre licenced events. The club members will generally be taught in their own club\, it is expected that Kanji referees\, officials and coaches will be able to contribute to club based coaching sessions and in house events once trained. DESCRIPTION:Technical Grading Level 1 & 2 \nLocation: Dartford Judo Club Cotton Lane\, Stone\, Dartford DA2 6PD \nDate: Sunday 31st August 2025 \nTimes: 10:00 – 13:00 Technical Grading One ; 13:00 – 17:00 Technical Grading Two \nCost: £20 for either course or £30 for both \nCourse Description: \nTechnical Grading One – The aim of this module is to deliver\, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 1st to 9th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent in order that coaches can confidently prepare and grade players Novice to 6th Mon and Novice to 5th Kyu. \nTechnical Grading Two -The aim of this module is to deliver\, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 10th to 18th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent\, in order that BJA Level 2 coaches can confidently prepare and grade players for all Mon and Kyu grades. \nPlease note that without this module all BJA Level 2 coaches qualifying after January 2013 will not be able to grade players. \nRevalidation Course Suitable for All Level of Coaches \nThis is a British Judo Association Licenced Coach Education/Revalidation Course

DESCRIPTION:This course is part of a National Program to update all members on the modernised Dan Grade processes and techniques to start on 1st Jan 2026 \nThis course is mandatory for all Senior Examiners to revalidate from 1st Jan 2026 for 3 years\nAll attending SEs will also convert to carrying out Kata exams for Nage-no-kata\, Katame-no-kata and Gonosen-no-kata up to Level 2. \nCoaches will benefit from gaining an understanding of the changes to the grading structure when preparing their judoka for promo-tion and also update their knowledge of the 100 IJF/Kodokan techniques\, which are also part of the IJF Academy coaching program\, whilst being signposted to all resources available. \nPlease bring packed lunch. \nRequirements: Senior Examiner and or a qualified coach. \nDate/Times: 31st August 2025 10:00-16:00 \nBooking: Contact the course organiser to book: patanddawnbyrne@talktalk.net or 07718 884 893 \nThis is a licensed Coach Education/Revalidation Course \n
