DESCRIPTION:This is a Judo Ne-waza competition; a minimum of one knee (or equivalent) must remain on the tatami at all times. If a technique requires momentary simultaneous removal of both knees from the tatami onto both feet\, then it is left to the referee’s discretion to determine if in his/her opinion this is a legitimate removal of both knees from the tatami. \n1. When their names are announced the contestants will Rei onto the mat.\n2. When the referee beckons them forward\, they will walk to the middle of the side edge of mat and Tachi-rei (standing bow) to each other.\n3. When the referee is sure the table officials are ready\, s/he will beckon the competitors to middle of mat\, when they are 1 metre apart\, they will kneel and Za-rei (kneeling bow) to each other.\n4. They will then kneel in the up position and raise the other leg with foot flat. (ie kneeling on one knee).\n5. On the command of Hajime\, the contest will start – they have 15 secs to take hold and attempt to take control.\n6. If competitors become locked together with no one appearing to be able to gain an advantage then Matte should be called. The competitors are brought back to the centre of the mat.\n7. Osaekomi\, 20 Secs Ippon\, 10 Secs Waza-ari. Waza-ari and Ippon will be the only scores used. In accordance with the new rules there will be no Waza-ari Awasete Ippon.\n8. SUMMARY:London Area Development Event for Juniors & Seniors
DESCRIPTION:Eligibility: The event is limited to Juniors Novice to 6th Mon and Seniors Novice to 2nd Kyu (generally low level competitors).\nAll Junior players must have been graded within the last 12 months (23 March 2018 to 23 March 2019).  Please ensure that record books have been updated accordingly. Competitors MUST produce a valid BJA or affiliated association membership card and record book when booking in\, failure to produce a valid membership card and proof of grade will mean no participation – no refund of entry fees. \nNO VALID LICENCE – NO CONTEST – NO EXCEPTIONS \nFormat:\nPlayers In Group 1-4 will be grouped into pools of 4/5 players of their weight\, where possible\, based on the age/grade groups below.  However some groups may need to be merged\, and in these instances we will discuss with the coaches of the affected players.  It is imperative that you put players EXACT weight on the entry form prior to the event.  Please ensure there is a contact email address for any queries to be resolved prior to the event. \nPlayers In Group 5-8 and all Senior Groups will fight in their weight groups and will receive medals for these groups\, the tournament director reserves the right to combine or alter weight categories should entries dictate.
