DESCRIPTION:The application process is now open for this year’s 1st4Sport Level 3 in Coaching Judo (formerly UKCC). We will deliver the learning programme over three-weekend blocks\, with some modules being delivered between the blocks online. \nDates:  \nBlock 1: 30/31 May 2026\nBlock 2: 11/12 July 2026\nBlock 3: 26/27 September 2026 \nVenue: SKK Judo Club\, Viaduct Street / Legh Street\, Earlestown\, Newton-le-Willows\, Merseyside WA12 9NH \nFee: £600.00 (BJA Members non-BJA Members £650.00 see note)\nNote: This course normally costs £1\,000\, but the BJA is providing a subsidy for all candidates. \nClosing Date: Monday 27 April 2026 \nMinimum Requirements\nAll candidates must: \n• be at least 20 years of age\n• hold a minimum of grade 1st Dan \nBJA members must hold a current BJA Level 2 or BJA Level 3 Coach Award (non BJA members must hold a UKCC Level 2 Award). \nThe 1st4sport Level 3 in Coaching Judo looks at developing coaches who wish to improve their coaching skill regardless of the participant groups they coach. The programme focuses on a holistic approach that will explore the competitive\, technical\, tactical\, physical\, and psychological as they apply to the lifestyle needs of the judoka. \nWe are looking for coaches with several years’ experience who coach regularly who have an appetite for learning and a desire for self-improvement. \nCurrently valid BJA Level 2 and BJA Level 3 Coaches are eligible to apply to be considered for this programme if they fully meet the eligibility requirements. Coaches from other judo organisations are eligible to apply to be considered for this programme if they fully meet the eligibility requirements and hold a 1st4sport Level 2 in Coaching Judo. \nBJA coaches may get help with funding and they should contact their local BJA Regional Support/Club Officer for advice.
