National Kata Course : Ju-no-kata (Sat 25 Nov 23) and Kodokan Goshin-jutsu (Sun 26 Nov 23)
Venue: Army School of Physical Training, Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre, Prince’s Avenue, Aldershot, Hampshire. GU11 2LB
Tutor: Yoshihiko Iura Kodokan 8th dan – supported by members of the BJA Kata Group as required
Date: Saturday 25 November 2023 – Ju-no-kata ; Sunday 26 November 2023 – Kodokan Goshin-jutsu
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm both days – booking-in 09:30am
Cost: £30 (one day) or £50 for both days (Saturday and Sunday)
Those judoka holding an attendance certificate from a previously completed British Judo course in Ju-no-kata or Kodokan Goshin-jutsu will have the opportunity to be continuously assessed for a BJA Level 1 certificate in that particular kata. Higher level certificates will be subject to examination. Only holders of Level 1 may be examined for Level 2, and only holders of Level 2 may be examined for Level 3.
The Continuous Assessment process and the Kata Examinations will be free of charge. For successful candidates there will be a charge of £10, per kata, for obtaining a Kata Certificate
Special Note: The British Army are providing their excellent facilities free of charge to the course organisers, and in view of this all military personnel serving in the Armed Forces will be able to attend for free. Military judoka must still book on the course with an administration fee of £5 per day to cover attendance certificates and other resources such as handouts.
