The aim of this module is to deliver, discuss and work with the technical requirement of British Judo’s ‘Mon and Kyu Grading Syllabus’ 1st to 9th Mon and the Kyu grade equivalent in order that coaches can confidently prepare and grade players Novice to 6th Mon and Novice to 5th Kyu.

UK Coaching Safeguarding workshop
09:30 – 12:30
This workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. This interactive workshop will help coaches recognise poor practice and the red flags of abuse, while also prompting a review of your coaching practice to ensure that you provide a positive and enriching experience for all children.
The workshop, updated in May 2019, has been developed in partnership with the NSPCC and CPSU and includes new scenarios giving you the opportunity to learn through discussion, exploring the consequences of those decisions in a safe and supportive environment, helping to increase your confidence.
The course has been awarded 3 CPD points by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). Cost: £40
First Aid course
13:30 – 16:30
This course is open to anyone, suitable for newly qualifying or revalidating coaches, as well as club volunteers. Taking place over 3 hours, this workshop covers Basic Life Support and other common first aid scenarios. Experienced tutor with emergency services and martial arts background. Upon completion of the workshop delegates are certificated for 3 years. This course is now fully booked
