The Southern Area and Sussex County on behalf of British Judo are running in-person training for the Club and Area referee levels in the same session at Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, in Horsham.The module will cover the basic structure of refereeing, penalty situations, signals, referee pathway as well as the competition framework. The module is suitable for athletes or coaches who have not previously had any referee or official competition experience but meet or exceed the entry criteria set out in the Referee Handbook which is on the BJA website under Refereeing resources. If in doubt, please call the tutor contact to discuss. Club and Area referee levels may use this module as a revalidation event if they are currently invalid. Coaches who fully qualify including the event practical examination can claim a coach revalidation on completion.
