School 2Dojo

The BJA encourage schools to work with Clubmark accredited clubs who demonstrate their commitment to providing high quality and effective Judo opportunities for young people.

The School 2Dojo programme supports a school and Clubmark Accredited club to agree a partnership that will promote and deliver Judo to young people within a school and raise awareness of community opportunities for sustained participation. In creating a link both school and accredited club will receive a School 2Dojo certificate in recognition of their partnership.

Overview of Levels

Yellow link

What: This is the basic level where a school is aware of the BJA Clubmark club.  Both school and club communicate to maximise any opportunity to promote the sport to students within the school.  The school is provided with up to date club information and posters and advertises these on a notice board.  At least once per year the Judo club provide one demonstration or come and try it session at the school.

Blue link

What:  This is the second level to a link where school is aware of the BJA Clubmark club, a demonstration is provided once per year and off the back of this a Judo programme (minimum of 6 weeks) is run for students at the school.  The school is provided with up to date club information and posters and advertises these on a notice board.  This link encourages schools to move on from yellow belt level to provide delivery that may involve licensing of pupils and grading.  This link could be the commitment to deliver at least 1 Sportivate per year or some GCSE delivery.

Black Link (Satellite club)

What: This is the satellite club link for clubs that provide ongoing sessions at schools through the year. These will need to be registered officially with the BJA but will come under the umbrella of the BJA for insurance.  This link encourages the use of schools facilities where existing club venues do not have capacity to expand. It also assists with retention of participants within Judo through provision of activity within new community catchment areas.

Please ensure you complete a satellite registration form to register your black belt link, as well as the School 2Dojo agreement below.
