The members, staff and volunteers of the Association are committed
to the welfare and protection of children and young people so
that they can enjoy sporting activities in safety without fear,
threat or abuse.

National Judo
Child Protection Working Party
On September 3rd 2004
the Lead Child Protection Officers from England, Northern Ireland,
Scotland and Wales met and formed the National Judo Child Protection
Working Party.
Our aim - simple to
ensure the protection of children, young people and vulnerable
adults within the sport of Judo across the whole of the UK.

Areas
of Responsibility
- To ensure coalescence of Child Protection Policies and
Practices in each home country and UK Judo Bodies.
- To review all policies and procedures at least once
every three years or whenever there is a major change
in the organisation or in relevant legislation.
- To establish and monitor standards for background checks
(CRB/DS)
- To provide support for Lead Child Protection Officers
in each organisation in regard to investigations, hearings
and procedures.
- To establish and maintain a secure and confidential
central records database for the recording of cases that
have been adjudicated on within the four bodies.
- To produce, update and implement a Child Protection
Training matrix for judo.
- To lead of the implementation of each organisation’s
introduction of the Standards for Safeguarding & Protecting
Children in Sport.
