Tickets set to go on sale for the British Open at The SSE Arena, Wembley 11-12th July 2015

Preparations are well underway for the British Open hosted for the first time at The SSE Arena, Wembley in July 2015, with tickets set to go on general sale from Friday 15th May.

The British Open will be held across two days on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of July and will be the biggest judo event to be held in England in 2015. This will be the first major judo event to be held at The SSE Arena, Wembley and will see judo competition returning to a prestigious London venue following the 2012 Olympic Games.

The judo stars of the future will compete alongside Olympians in exciting contests across two days of top quality judo action. The British Open is your opportunity to witness the British Olympic squad competing on home soil in London as athletes prepare for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

For the first time the event will also host a ‘Fan Zone’, enabling seasoned judo fans and newcomers to the sport to find out more about judo and get involved in fun activities for the whole family.

The SSE Arena, Wembley, has a rich sporting background, playing host to Olympic badminton and rhythmic gymnastics in at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The venue has also previously hosted Masters Snooker and Premier League Darts.

Kerrith Brown, British Judo Chairman said: “I’m pleased to announce that tickets will soon be on sale for the British Open. We’re delighted to be holding the British Open at The SSE Arena, Wembley. The British Open is one of our main events this year, and is a significant event in the history of British Judo.

“We’re hoping for a big crowd at the British Open this year, with the judo family out in force to support our British athletes and experiencing the event in it’s new home at The SSE Arena, Wembley.”
