The National B Referee award is the fourth level of refereeing qualification awarded by British Judo.

If you already hold a National C Referee award and want to become involved in national level events, this award is essential for your progression. This award may also be attempted by ex-performance athletes and coaches who have appropriate transferrable skills.

The training module for the National B Referee award is run over 1 day. It focuses on understanding refereeing finer details at Performance level. The official training module is supplemented by the ongoing practical training programme.

On successful completion of the training module, training programme, theory examination and practical assessment, candidates will receive a British Judo Association National B Referee award and will be able to referee in appropriate events which may include level 4, depending on performance.
