The
Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is Government initiative
in its 4th year that aims to support talented athletes, not already
on World Class funding, to continue with a formal academic program
whilst continuing to participate in their chosen sport at a high
level.
Players
will not receive actual grants but will receive the benefit of
services (e.g. coaching, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning)
up to the value of £3,000.
PLAYER
ELIGIBILITY
Players must be 15-25 years of age (players must be at least 16
years by 1st June 2008); players with a disability must be 15
- 35 years of age.
Players must be in education studying for an academic qualification
(either full time or part time), in England.
Players must meet the Performance criteria detailed in the BJA’s
TASS National Framework.
Players are not eligible for TASS if they are in receipt of
a Player Personal Award from the British Judo Association or
UK Sport.
