–78kg weight category, at the Junior World Championships, which
took place in the Dominican Republic, from the 12th to the 15th

The 19-year-old, who is
originally from Bristol, beat Raimonda Gedutyte of Lithuania,
Lea Murko of Slovenia, Tijana Radic of Serbia & Montenegro
but lost to Haruna Kawaskima of Japan in the final.
Abbie Cunningham, who trains at SKK
Judo Club, narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in 5th place
in the +78kg weight category. She lost in the fight for the bronze
medal against Na Young Kim of Korea.
