British Judo’s
visually impaired squad took a silver and two bronze medals at
the Northglenn Judo Championships in Colorado on 8 th April 2006.
The team, featuring six
players, competed in the sighted tournament, which had over 250
entrants. The U.S. also had twelve blind or visually impaired
athletes competing.
Athens
silver medallist Ian Rose won silver in the 100kg category. Four-time
Paralympian Simon Jackson won bronze in the 73kg category while
there was also a bronze for Welsh star Maxine Ingram in the women's
63kg category.
The
tournament formed part of the team's preparation for the IBSA
World Championships in France in June.
