Singleton and Conway named in team for Rio

British Judo has named the final two players in its team for the 2007 World Judo Championships, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from 13th –16th September.

The former European Champion last competed in a World Championships in 2003, when she finished in 5 th place. Although outside the medals it was enough to guarantee a place for the 2004 Athens Olympics where she finished 7th.

Edinburgh’s Sally Conway will make her senior World Championship debut in the –70kg weight category. The 20-year-old, a silver medallist at last year’s Junior World Championships, won bronze at the Turkish B Tournament.

The entire team will attend a training camp in Japan from the 13th -30th July as part of their preparations for the Championships. The team will depart for Rio on Friday 7th September.
