Clark finishes 5th in Paris

Edinburgh's Sarah Clark narrowly missed out on a medal at the 2007 Paris Super World Cup, finishing 5th in the -63kg weight category.

The European Champion lost to Cuban Yaritza Abel in the repechage final.  The Brit won her first fight against Emmanuelle Payet of France by ippon, but a loss to Japan's Ayumi Tanimoto left her in the repechage.  There she won fights against Claudia Heill of Austria and Barbosa Yuri of Brazil but could'nt get past the Cuban.

The medals went to Virginie Taurines of France who won gold, Lucie Decosse, also of France, finished with silver, and the second bronze was won by Ayumi Tanimoto of Japan.

A 18 strong British team is currently taking part in a 5-day International French Training Camp at the Institute of Judo in Paris.
