Saturday 5th July from 12 noon to 2pm at Brecon Leisure Centre. The session will be constructive an informative run on the usual informal basis. There will be time for a chat at the end of the session for players to air their views on the future of the Masters Training Sessions with a view to entering a maximum strength team at the British Masters event at the end of September. All associations are welcome.

Safeguarding & Protecting Children Inc Intro to BJA LTPD |
|
British Judo will be running in partnership with Moberley Judo Club - London, a Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop (SPC). This will be a judo specific course.
Incorporated into the workshop is Basic orientation for the BJA’s Long Term Player Development Plan (LTPD), this is designed to give coaches and parents an over view of the plan and provide information on more in-depth training resources.
This is a 4-hour workshop and will be a BJA coach revalidation event.
Places are strictly limited to 20 places. This course has proved very popular in the past and early booking is advisable.
The course fee includes all resources and certificates for both the SPC & LTPD.
Attendance at a SPC workshop is mandatory for all players looking to newly qualify as coaches. Existing coaches will need to have attended a SPC course in order to obtain the UK Coaching Certificate.

NSPCC - A Time to Listen |
|
British Judo will be running an NSPCC Time To Listen Workshop – Club Welfare Officer Training at Long Eaton Judo Club, Nottinghamshire.
This course is designed for Club Welfare Officers and the senior coach in their club. This is a 4-hour workshop (plus 15 minutes registration time) and will be a BJA coach revalidation event for the coaches that attend although it must be stressed that this course is designed to be attended by coaches with their Club Welfare Officer.
Places are strictly limited to 12 places.
The course fee includes all resources and certificates.
All participants need to have completed a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop (was Good Practice and Child Protection) prior to attending “A Time to Listen” Club Welfare Officer Training.

WJA 2008 CELTIC JUNIOR CAMP |

Junior Celtic Camp - July 28-30th, 2008
Join us at this year’s Junior Camp, featuring the coaching skills of Neil Adams MBE (see his 1981 World Final video & bio on the Academy Page!) and take your techniques to a new level. We are looking into the option of hiring a coach from the Dartford training to bring interested participants straight to Cardiff.
Participants have the option of:
• Full residential camp (3 days/3 nights) at the Welsh Institute of Sport -£185,
• Day rate (Mat fees + hot lunch) - £18 per day, or
• Mat Session - £8 each session
Seats on the Coach from Dartford: To be determined
Afternoon activities: There will be activities organised each afternoon on the Monday and Tuesday and may incur a small participation fee.
Minimum age is 14 years old, Maximum age 20 years old. Minimum grade of Green Belt.
All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please see the website for the Locus Parentis Form, if you are a coach bringing under 16’s. Parents are welcome to stay at the WIS (full board) with their children at £140 for the 3 nights. Room only and B&B rates are also available. Accommodations at the WIS are limited, and are offered on a first come, first served basis. We also have a special rate with the Premier Inn Cardiff Roath upon request.
