The silver went to Hovhannes Davtyan of Armenia and Nestor Kergiani finished in the bronze medal spot. At the same event Euan Burton and Tom Reed both won bronze medals for Britain in the –81kg weight category.

Elsewhere, at the 2007 Finnish Open, which took place in Vantaa, British athletes won three golds and four bronze medals. The gold medals were won by Colin Oates, Iain Feenan and Emma Fletcher in the –66kg, -73kg and –78kg weight categories respectively.

Bronzes were won by Scott Malone, James Millar, Andrew Burns and Michelle Holt in the –60kg, -66kg, -100kg and –70kg weight categories respectively.
