National Volunteer Development Manager

£25 – 30K plus benefits (depending on experience)

The main job function of the National Volunteer Development Manager is to support, manage and co-ordinate the development and implementation of the British Judo Association’s People Development Framework for the four key volunteer roles: referees, competition officials, volunteers and young volunteers.

Sport England has strongly endorsed the British Judo Association Strategic Plan for the four-year period 2009-2013with an investment of £10.2 million and, as part of the Association’s delivery strategy, considerable emphasis is being placed on developing the many volunteers that play a crucial role in the organisation and development of the sport. These posts provide an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who want to join a forward-thinking dynamic organisation fully committed to delivering their target objectives.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of, and experience in, sport development at local and regional levels and engagement and motivation of volunteers. They will also need the ability to engage and develop strong partnerships internally and externally and capability to develop plans and deliver these against agreed targets and to monitor and evaluate the outcomes.

The ability to communicate at a high level, both orally and in writing and the ability to deliver against agreed targets is essential. Computer literacy and current driving licence are essential.

 

Competitions Development Officer

£25-£28k plus benefits (depending upon experience)

This post will implement the findings of the Association’s Competition Review and will ensure that a comprehensive competitions structure along with pathways for officials are developed with the involvement of key stakeholders.

Applicants will be have experience of organising competitions and events as well as acting as an official. An excellent communicator with the ability to lead and influence change is required as well as effective project management skills. This post is fixed term for two years.
