British Judo has a long
standing policy of allowing visually impaired players to enter
and compete in tournaments at every level – national, area and
club.
The Association is proud
that the sport allows for full integration of sighted and visually
impaired players in clubs and competition. Therefore, we
would like to remind all tournament organisers, competition controllers,
referees, officials and coaches that tournaments should be open
and accessible to players with all levels of visual impairment.
Where it is known that
a VI judoka is taking part, Competition Organisers should endeavor
to have a VI referee available through liaison with the
Senior referee for the event.
Visually Impaired players
should inform the organisers of the event at the earliest opportunity
during the entry process.
