Ahead of the 2012 London
Olympic Games, a detailed testing programme has been established
with judo’s International Test Event due to take place at ExCeL
London on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.
The focus for judo is
to test the sporting field of play; the results, timing and scoring
systems and how teams work together.
LOCOG (London Organising
Committee of Olympic Games and Paralympic Games) will be replicating
day three (-57kg, -73kg) and day five (-70kg, -90kg) of the Olympic
programme. Teams have been invited to enter one athlete per category
except Great Britain who can enter more.
The competition starts
at 09:30 each day with an expected finish time of 17:00 with a
90 min break from 12:30 - 14:00.
LOCOG expects around
100 athletes, 50 officials, 30 national technical officials, 39
international technical officials and 90 volunteers to join the
Judo Team to make the test event run smoothly.
There are no tickets
available for the event but if you’re interested in attending
please contact judo@london2012.com
in advance as you will not be allowed access on the day.
As it is not an IJF/EJU
event but a LOCOG one there is no official broadcast or live streaming.
