The Surrey Health Sports
Awards, held last week at the Camberley Theatre, saw judo feature
prominently as the Olympic sport produced winners in three of
the most coveted categories.
Danny Williams, who made
his World Championships debut this month, won the Male Sports
Personality of the Year award while injury-hit Samantha Lowe won
the female equivalent.
Camberley Judo Club, home
to Danny, Samantha and many of Britain’s leading fighters, won
Sports Team of the Year.
