Edinburgh to host international camp for youngsters

Sportif Judo will stage a four-day training camp at Edinburgh University for exciting talents from the Olympic sport of judo on Friday 15 July – Monday 18 July.

A star-studded coaching roster has been assembled for the camp including Olympian’s, world and European medallists.

Judoka from the age of 10 – 19 will take part and be put through their paces by Portugal’s Olympic and European medallist Nuno Delgado and JudoScotland’s National Talent Coach John Buchanan, a world medallist and Olympian.

Kim Christiansen, national cadet and u20 coach for Denmark and camp director Peter Gardiner completes the four-strong coaching roster.

The camp will be divided into two halves for younger and older players with two sessions each day. The sessions will be split between technical training and randori (free practice). The morning of the final day has been set aside for a test match team tournament where players will compete in mixed teams.

The camp costs £60 and will take place at Edinburgh University Centre for Sport and Exercise, Pleasance Building, City Centre, Edinburgh.
