The National Ranking list
for 2009 is now complete and provides a great representation of
the domestic competition scene.
British players are
ranked by the medals won at the British Open and the four Home
Country tournaments. Points are given to the top three results
of each weight category from these events, and at least one fight
must be won.
The Domestic competition circuit continues
to strengthen and provides sound preparation for the next stage
of competition- International B tournaments- newly named Euro
Cups. Players entering these events gain competitive experience
and status for their results.
The British Open this
year attracted large delegations from Europe including 30 players
from France, the first time that France has been represented at
the British Open since 2004. Ten British players medalled over
the weekend of the event, which is now an official European B
Tournament.
