Don’t miss the highlights
from the Rio de Janeiro Grand Slam tonight on Sky Sports.
As the second programme in the ten-part
International Judo Federation World Circuit series you can be
witness the enthusiastic Brazilian crowd which packed the Maracanazinho
Hall – eight thousand people each day - during the tournament
earlier this month.
The carnival home support
was no doubt extra motivation for the home team who won
six medals (one gold, one silver, four bronze) and finished third
in the medals table, behind Japan (8 out of 14 possible
gold medals) and Russia (one gold, two silver, two bronze).
If you miss it tonight
at 6.30pm and 10pm on Sky Sports 4 you can catch up with the action
tomorrow at the 2am, 8.30am and 12.30am,
The series, which is
being produced by Fighting Films, who also produce the GB World
Cup for Sky on behalf of the British Judo Association, has been
commissioned by the IJF.
Each programme will
feature the best of the action from all 14 weight categories and
interviews with the standout fighters. The series, which
will air around the world, will predominantly focus on the finals
and the medallists from each event.
British medallists will
feature in the series as they send teams to several events including
the Russian Grand Slam later this month and the World Championships
in September.
