Last weekend, the World Class Start programme took a team of their youngest players to an International Event in Holland.

For many, it was their first International, and a great opportunity to gain experience of competing as part of a British Team against foreign players.

The standard was high with competitors from many countries including Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia, Latvia, Croatia, France, Norway and Estonia.

The following players won medals:

Ella Carter Allan +63kg (Gold),

Jamie Appleton –46kg (bronze),

John Evennett –66kg (bronze).

On the Sunday, a team of our older players competed, and the following medals were won:

Samantha Wickens – 44kg (bronze)

Stacey Stevenson –44kg (bronze)

Colleen Kerr – 57kg (Gold)

David Jones –42kg (bronze)

Liam Franklin –50kg (Gold)

Gregg Varey –55kg (Gold)

Scott Malone – 60kg (Gold)

Khalid Gehlan –73kg (Silver)
