British Judo Association Appoints Sponsorship Specialist Purple Tangerine

The British Judo Association, the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Judo in Great Britain, has appointed sponsorship marketing specialist Purple Tangerine to assist in the search for corporate partners.

Purple Tangerine will help source brands who are looking to become a key partner of a major Olympic & Paralympic sport in the build up to London 2012 and beyond.

Sponsorship opportunities include association with the British Elite squads, the annual GB Judo World Cup & all national events, the Enjoy Judo Schools Development Programme, and the Grading Certificate Scheme.

With a number of sponsorship, merchandising and advertising options available, British Judo is offering companies a great opportunity to build a strong association with judo, and be involved with the development of an emerging force.

Judo is one of Great Britain’s most successful Olympic sports, having won 16 medals to date. The team for Beijing is one of the strongest ever sent to a Games, including World and European Champion Craig Fallon, and World medalists Euan Burton, Peter Cousins and Karina Bryant.

The Association operates a thriving schools development programme called ‘Enjoy Judo’, which to date has reached over 50,000 children. The Association also holds competitions and gradings throughout the UK on most weekends.

The BJA has continually proved itself with success at the highest levels including: 16 Olympic & 7 Paralympic medals; 20 World Championship titles; and 48 European Championship titles.
