British Judo lifetime member Peter Bent passes away

It is with great sadness that the British Judo Association announces the passing of Peter Bent, a lifetime member of the Association and much-admired judo stalwart who was active in the sport for over 60 years.

Peter, who was awarded his 6th Dan in 2001, begun his interest with physical education whilst serving with the Royal Navy back in the 1950s, and became involved with several Clubs in the London area.

Peter was involved with the National Refereeing Commission and took charge all over the world as a referee of the highest repute as he progressed to his IJF grade.
