British Judo appoints Daniel Lascau as Performance Director

The British Judo Association is pleased to announce that Daniel Lascau has been appointed as our new Performance Director.

The 42-year-old was a highly-accomplished judoka before holding integral roles at the German Judo Federation and European Judo Union.

Daniel won World Championships gold in 1991 and represented Germany at the Barcelona Olympic in 1992.

He later worked as Vice President of the German Judo Federation and most recently held the position for the European Judo Union.

The much-admired former -78kg judoka will now oversee the High Performance Programme.

British Judo Chairman Densign White said: “Daniel is a world class judo technical expert and leader and we are delighted to secure his services in this critical period of preparation for the London Olympics. We have a number of athletes who can deliver Olympic medals with the right preparation – and I believe Daniel is the right person to take on that challenge.”
