The London Borough of
Newham are organising a 10k fun run in conjunction with Tessa
Sanderson CBE, Olympic Gold medallist and ambassador of Newham
2012. The British Judo Trust has entered a team to run in the
race, which is held on Sunday 19th April. Our very own BJA Chairman,
Densign White, will lead the team of runners and hopes to raise
lots of money for the Trust.
The Newham 10k run is a
celebration of freedom, union of multi-cultural communities
and joining up of minds and bodies for numerous social causes
with a single purpose of raising funds for charity and awareness
through running. The race will pass
next to the magnificent London Olympic Stadium and finish at West
Ham Park.
This is a fantastic opportunity
to raise money for the Trust in the 2012 Olympic park venue, Newham.
The team also needs a name and is appealing for your suggestions!
The team name needs to be something related to Judo and all ideas
are welcome. Please send all name suggestions to nicolaturner@britishjudo.org.uk
with your name and contact details. Closing date for name
suggestions is end of March. The winning name and creator will
then be announced and will receive a special prize.
To sponsor the team, you
can pledge money over the phone by calling 01509 631695 and using
your Debit/Credit card or send a cheque made payable to ‘The British
Judo Trust’. Any donations will be welcome and appreciated by
the Trust. The British Judo Trust helps to generate additional
income that can directly support the development of Judo within
the UK.
As an extra incentive
if more than £1000 is raised, the runners will all run in Judo
Gi’s, which will definitely help them stand out in the running
crowds. Your name will also be published below to thank you for
your generosity.

Thank
you to all sponsors and donators:
