The Northern Ireland Judo
Youth Games event will see 120 young competitors take to the mat
at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney on Saturday 11
December.
The highly-regarded event
has attracted entries from across the country and will follow
the same format as major international competitions along with
referees and the scoring format of the British Judo Association.
Causeway Judo Club have
been one of the driving forces behind bringing the Games to Ballymoney
as they bid to promote the sport across the whole North Antrim
region.

Event organiser Marshall
Craig said: “This will be a great event for the area of Ballymoney
and we’re hoping everyone will get behind the games and also come
and watch some of the judo.
“We’ve got added extras
to the day including a bouncy castle, local stalls and sports
specific retailers coming including both martial arts equipment
and supplements.
“We’re really proud that
we have been chosen as the hosts and the Causeway Club is pulling
out all the stops to ensure this event will be one to be remembered
not only for the judo community but for Ballymoney too.”
Admission to the event
is free and the competition starts at 10.00am.
