The 2010 Northern Ireland
Open Championships will go ahead as planned on Saturday 24th April.
There had been concerns
that the volcanic ash cloud would threaten another European sports
meeting but as the UK airports reopen the event will take centre
stage at Queens University Belfast.
Competitors travelling
to Northern Ireland are advised to use the Belfast City Airport
which resumed a reduced service on Wednesday. Passengers are still
urged to check with the airline before travelling.
Juniors, seniors and masters
will all be in action at the event which is being run by the Northern
Ireland Judo Federation who are affiliated to the British Judo
Association.
The British Judo Association
is the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of judo in
Great Britain.
