On Sunday 4 th July, over 300 young judo players from all over Great Britain will come together to compete in a tournament raising money for the Luke Walmsley Sports Foundation.

The Luke Walmsley Judo Tournament will take place at the English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Road, Sheffield. Over 2,500 tickets have been available with proceeds going to the charity.   The draw will be made by former three times World Champion Karen Briggs.

Luke Walmsley, who was tragically killed at school at the age of 14 last year, was a member of the Grimsby Judo Club. Soon after his death, his parents set up the Luke Walmsley Sport Foundation, which is raising funds to provide a new sports facility for the local community.

His coach at Grimsby Judo Club, Terry Alltoft decided to organise the Luke Walmsley Tournament to assist in raising money for the foundation and provide a lasting memory to Luke.

The tournament will commence at 9am on Sunday 4 July. Spectator tickets are available on the door priced £ 3 for Adults, £ 1 for OAPs and free for Children.
