London Community Development Coach

(Main area of Work to Coach and develop judo in the Boroughs of London as directed )

 

Salary £18 – 20K plus benefits

(fixed term 12 months possible extension subject to continued funding)

 

The British Judo Association is the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of judo in Great Britain.

As part of the British Judo Association’s targets of increasing its adult participation by 20,000 and reducing the drop off by a minimum 5% year on year we are seeking to recruit a Community Development Coach for development work in London.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced coach with good knowledge and experience of coaching in education environments and sound knowledge of club structure.

The role will require daytime and some evening work as your remit will be to deliver a range of high quality judo opportunities that are progressive and reflective of the needs of people in the community. The successful candidate will need to have experience in coaching judo to all ages and in addition should have

 

•  British Judo Association - UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification.

•  A First Aid Qualification

•  Good Practice and Child Protection Trained and current CRB Clearance

As part of the British Judo Association’s targets of increasing its adult participation by 20,000 and reducing the drop off by a minimum 5% year on year we are seeking to recruit a Community Development Coach for London/Millwall. This position will work in partnership with Millwall Community Scheme which is a registered charity delivering a range of sporting, social, educational and healthy lifestyle opportunities across Lewisham and Southwark. The organisation works closely with Millwall FC. However, they have extended into other sports including basketball, netball, rugby, cheerleading and judo with the intention of offering opportunities to as wide an audience as possible. They believe passionately in the positive impact sport can play in engaging young people and supporting their personal development.
