Judoka from all over
the UK and Ireland came together for the 21 st annual Kendal Winter
Training Camp from the 3rd – 6th January, braving the cold weather
and snow for the ultimate test of the New Year.
As well as the daily
mat sessions, the three-day camp, held at Kendal Judo Club, saw
the 95 participants taking part in demanding outdoor training,
which made full use of the dramatic landscape.
Over the last 20 years
the camp has tested nearly every member of British team, and this
year was no different. Those present included members of the new
British squad including those who have qualified places for the
2008 Beijing Olympic Games, as well as though on target to do
so.
Kendal Judo Club is
the largest World Class judo training venue in the North of England
containing two full Olympic size training areas and seating for
over 200 people. The £600,000 facility officially
opened in 2006.
