GLL Sport Foundation

The deadline of GLL Sport Foundation applications has now been extended to 7th July 2008.

GLL Sport Foundation has been established to assist the development and potential success of young sports people. The Foundation aims to reduce the financial burden of training and competition costs on talented young athletes, many of whom aspire to participate in the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics. The Foundation will engage and recognise youth sport and support talented young athletes specifically within partner Boroughs where GLL operate sports facilities. The Foundation also seeks to assist coaches of youth sport by providing funding to increase coaching qualifications.

The GLL Sport Foundation will work with Partners across 16 Boroughs in London and South East and is designed to assist talented young sports people achieve their potential in the following London Boroughs:

  • London Borough of Barnet

  • London Borough of Camden

  • London Borough of Ealing

  • London Borough of Greenwich

  • London Borough of Hackney

  • London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham

  • London Borough of Lambeth

  • London Borough of Merton

  • London Borough of Newham

  • London borough of Sutton

  • London Borough of Tower Hamlets

  • London Borough of Waltham Forest

  • Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (Rainbow Leisure Centre)

  • Reading Borough Council (Rivermead Leisure Complex)

  • Bellingham Community Project (Bellingham Leisure & Lifestyle Centre)

  • London Development Agency (Crystal Palace National Sports Centre)

  • London Playing Fields Foundation (Peter May Sports Centre)

In the following Boroughs the GLL Sport Foundation will be partnering with existing Young Talent Schemes, therefore application/awards will be made through and with the following organisations:

To date we have received low numbers of applications for awards and therefore seek to increase the awareness of the GLL Sport Foundation to benefit local athletes and coaches.

To enable the Foundation to be successful in reaching athletes please forward this information to Sports Clubs, Regional Coaches and talented athletes on your records whom may be eligible for awards. We would also like to ask if you would be able to put the website link www.gllsportfoundation.org on your National Governing Body Website page.
