Judo player Craig Fallon
and cyclists Roger Hammond and Steve Cummings are among Team GB
athletes competing in events that will see medals awarded on day
one of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games tomorrow (Saturday).
Fallon is the first British judo player to go into action in Beijing
– he competes in the men’s extra lightweight (under-60kg) division
at his second successive Olympic Games.
The 25-year-old faces Monaco’s Yann Siccardi in the opening round.
Victory would be likely to pit him against Austria’s reigning
European champion, Ludwig Paischer.
