BJA Chairman Densign
White has been re-elected as a Sports Director of the European
Judo Union, at the 60th EJU Congress held in Athens this week.
White will be one of three
Sports Directors and will work alongside Daniel Lascau (Head Sports
Director) of Romania, and Indrek Pertelson of Estonia.
Having already served four
years as a Sport Director, he is delighted to be elected for a
second term saying, "I am honoured that my European colleagues
continue to have the belief and confidence in me to deliver within
this important position”.
The BJA Chairman will be
leading the EJU’s Youth section, including overseeing the Cadet
and Junior European Championships, an area that is close to his
heart having been a Junior European medallist before going on
to win senior European and World medals, and representing Britain
at two Olympic Games.
"I look forward to
developing all areas under my Youth remit in order to continually
improve the experience for younger competitors at a European level”,
he said.
"I will also be contributing
to the positive changes happening at an IJF (International Judo
Federation) level and hope that ultimately this will help assist
the development of the sport in Britain”.
