The English Institute of sport is seeking a lead physiotherapist for judo. This is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week with a salary within the region of £33,596 – £44,794 per annum . The position will be based at the British Judo Performance Institute at Dartford Judo Club, although the EIS base will be at Lea Valley Stadium, London.

The post holder will contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of the British Judo Performance Programme, supported by the English Institute of Sport:

• To develop the most effective strategy of physiotherapy provision for Judo and establish a specialised physiotherapy team, who can provide high level and consistent service provision to Judo, in conjunction with the BJA Performance Directorate, namely the GB Head Coach, the BJA Chief Medical Officer and other service providers and BJA programme staff

• To set up and establish a medical base at the new British Judo Performance Institute at Dartford Judo Club and establish professional structures which will impact positively on judoka.

• To meet the requirements regarding specialist rehabilitation for elite Judoka and to set up a programme to ensure injured players return to mat fitness effectively, working closely with a designated coach and other support staff

You should have:

• A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy

• Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)

• Extensive experience in the provision of physiotherapy service to athletes and coaches to improve performance. This experience should include extensive work with national teams or high performance squads.
