British Judo selects seven-strong IJF Dusseldorf Grand Prix team

British Judo has selected the same seven-strong team who competed at the Paris Grand Glam for the IJF Dusseldorf Grand Prix on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.

The Dusseldorf Grand Prix will be the highest-profile competition the team will attend before the European Championships which will be held in Russia from 27-29 April.

Sophie Cox, the reigning European bronze medallist, will compete in the -52kg category while fellow British Closed Championships winner Sarah Clark takes to the tatami at -57kg.

Karina Bryant and Sarah Adlington, who both took fifth-place at the Paris Grand Slam, will again compete in the +78kg category.


Colin Oates narrowly missed out on a medal in Paris

Ashley McKenzie battles at -60kg while Colin Oates, who also took fifth-place in Paris with a record of three wins and one defeat, competes at -66kg.

Masters bronze medallist and British Closed Champion Euan Burton sees action in the -81kg category.
