Junior Men & Women now reinstated to the 2010 British Championships

The Board is happy to report that the Junior Men & Women competition will be reinstated in this year’s British Championships.

The Board believes this is an important competition for this specific age group but originally was forced to make a hard decision simply due to logistical constraints.  The intent was to provide an alternative meaningful national competition.

After considering all of the options; facilities, calendar constraints and financial considerations – it was agreed to revert to the original plan with some variations.  The British Championships event this year will be staged on 7 mats and we will reserve the right to run the D Bands Junior Men & Women off in a normal (instead of compound) repechage format if the numbers get too high.

The Board is committed to staging a top class and meaningful competition for the Pre-Cadets, Cadets and Juniors in Sheffield – and with the above mentioned changes we believe this can be accomplished and we can finish each day in a timely fashion – thereby protecting our players, coaches, referees, officials and all of our volunteers.
