34 countries have already
confirmed their participation at the 2011 GB World Cup, British
Judo’s annual showpiece, which takes place at Echo Arena Liverpool
on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October.
Brazil and France were
quick to sign up and will send teams of seven and 24 judoka respectively,
indicating their high regard for the EJU licensed event.
The two-day spectacle,
which is supported by UK Sport and Liverpool City Council, will
also see a 15-strong German team in action and eight judoka from
the Netherlands.
The GB World Cup has
once again attracted competitors from across the world as Argentina
and Peru will join fellow South Americans Brazil in action.

Echo Arena Liverpool
From North America we
will see Canada and the U.S.A compete while African nations Senegal,
Togo, Ghana and Morocco will all be represented.
From Oceania we’ll see
New Zealand judoka grace the Echo Arena stage while Europe will
provide the majority of judoka.
Austria, Belgium, Croatia,
Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain will
all field teams.
They will be joined
by leading judoka from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland,
Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro and Slovenia.
Elsewhere Monaco and
Cape Verde will also be represented.
Saturday 1 October
will see the men’s lightweight categories of -60kg, -66kg and
-73kg battle for honours while Sunday 2 October will see the -81kg,
-90kg, -100kg and +100kg weight categories in action.
