ENFIELD JUDO CLUB have been named as a lucky recipient of £500 worth of sports funding. They were awarded the grants from the Cash 4 Clubs scheme, having been selected by a panel whose distinguished judges included Dame Kelly Holmes, Olympic Gold medallist and British record holder in Athletics, and the Sports Commentator Barry Davies, MBE.

Enfield Judo Club based in Middlesex currently has approximately 70 members of all ages and skill levels. The Club is part-time, giving children and young people the opportunity to experience Judo, and offering friendship, confidence building and fitness all within the Enfield area in a safe and friendly environment with qualified coaches.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant was awarded to the club to enable them to purchase of jigsaw judo mats. These lighter, more transportable judo mats will enable the club to move around schools and Sports Centres within the Borough of Enfield. The Jigsaw mats will enable them to carry out displays across these venues in an attempt to reach out to many young people.

"This Cash 4 Clubs grant of £500 will push our club on to another level. This money will help us buy mats to start Judo taster sessions for youngsters in the local Enfield schools and brings us nearer in our quest to bring schools to Judo club." George Hyslop of Enfield Judo Club.

The club was one on 15 winners in this round of funding.  For full information on how your club could apply for the next round of funding click here http://cash-4-clubs.com/apply-for-a-grant/
