We look forward to welcoming
you to the London British Open this weekend. Ahead of the event
we would like to provide some useful information, as well as remind
you of a few changes to previous years:
Registration
Registration will take
place at the Gatwick Hilton Hotel between 1000 – 1800 on Friday
FOR ALL ATHLETES. After this time no further registrations will
be taken. If you are unable to attend someone can register on
your behalf but they must be in possession of both your passport
and up to date British Judo licence (both Team Card and record
book) in order to register you.
British Judo Licence
Please make sure your British
Judo licence is valid in order to compete. If it is not please
call the Membership Department immediately on 01509 631670 as
there will be no facility to renew your licence during registration
therefore, if it is invalid you will not be able to compete.
Weigh In
*NEW FOR 2011* This will
take place at the Gatwick Hilton Hotel ONLY. Unofficial weigh-in
is from 0630-0700 and Official weigh-in is from 0700-0800 both
days. If you are driving to weigh-in, please try and car share
if applicable and use the short-term car parking at the front
of the Hilton Hotel, which will prevent you from having to pay
to use the Car Park located at the hotel. ALL ATHLETES (including
GB) MUST BRING THEIR PASSPORT AND JUDO LICENCEE TO WEIGH-IN
Back Patches
These are compulsory for
this event. The country on your back patch MUST be identical to
the country of your passport. i.e UK passport = GBR on back patch.
Draw
This year, the draw will
take place at the Gatwick Hilton Hotel at 2000. All Coaches/Team
Staff must adhere to the strict dress code that is detailed in
the entry booklet
Warm Up Area at
the Competition Venue
*NEW FOR 2011* This is
located in the Dojo on the first floor of the K2 Leisure with
access through to the competition hall. There will be no warm
up area in the competition hall this year.
Personal Belongings/Bags
If you leave your personal
belongings/bags in the spectator seating we ask that you use one
seat per person in the Athlete Seating Area. With over 450 competitors
competing over the weekend we need to ensure that every athlete
has a seat.
Spectators
If you are bringing spectators
to the tournament they will need to pay for their ticket at the
venue’s reception desk at K2 Leisure Centre rather than outside
the competition hall as in previous years.
We looking forward to seeing
you on Friday.
