The 2009 British Masters
Championships is taking place on the 3rd October at Goresbrook
Leisure Centre in Essex.
The London Area are
proud to announce that at 1pm in the middle of the Mat they will
be celebrating the superstars of yesteryear past/present with
a fanfare introduction and photo session by Dave 'Elvis' Quinn.
A mass reunion of Olympic,
World and European past champions has been organised to celebrate
the past and present Masters of judo including:
Craig Fallon
Winston Gordon
Nicola Fairbrother
Nick Koktaylo (current
world Masters champion)
Elvis Gordon (actually
fighting in the Masters)
Ray Stevens
Peter Blewett
Chris Bowles
Tony Sweeney
Dave Scarsbrook
There will also be trade
stalls at the event with Koka Kids, Adidas suites, Fighting Films
DVD's, belts, t-shirts and photos. The venue also boasts many

Sunday will see the
National 'A' band competition start off with a fun warm up from
Chris Bowles 6th Dan 'Performance Coach of the Year and Local
Hero Bill Taylor 5th Dan 'Masters champion'

There will be a five
year age bands for Men, and a ten year age bands for Women. There
will be an evening weigh in on the Friday between 7-9pm and a
morning weigh in.
