May Madness 2009 – Get your Club fundraising!

Make Sure Your Club Doesn’t Miss Out on May Madness 2009!

May Madness is back. One of the British Judo Trust’s annual fundraising activities is a themed fundraising month for judo clubs. This initiative means that organising a fundraising event has never been easier, as you will be provided with everything you need to have lots of fun whilst also raising some valuable extra funds for your club!

Any Club that organises a fundraising day or activity as part of the month of judo will keep 50% of the total amount of money raised by their club. The other half of the money raised will go to the British Judo Trust, to the benefit of the sport across the UK as a whole.

After a successful May Madness in 2008, with over £5000 being raised, we hope that this year will see more clubs taking part. Last year’s activities included:

Sponsored throws

Superstar’s event

Sponsored fun runs

Fun Days

Fight Nights

Judo Taster Evenings

What will your Club choose to do this year? Getting involved is really straightforward – the process is as follows:

  • Send an email to info@britishjudotrust.org.uk to register your interest and to request a fundraising pack or contact Emma Davies-Carolan on 01509 631693
  • Once you receive your pack, use the information enclosed to help you decide on a fundraising activity, a date and a location
  • Use the templates provided in the pack to promote your fundraising activity within your Club, in your local area and on the British Judo Trust website
  • Have fun whilst raising money for your Club and for judo in the UK!

Further details will be issued via the website and e-newsletter or please contact Emma on the above number.
