Do you know a judo volunteer
that deserves special recognition? Does anyone in your club deserve
a thank you? If so, then why not nominate them in the 2009-2010
People Awards?
The British Judo Association
has now opened nominations and is inviting Areas, Clubs, Members
and Parents to nominate worthy volunteers.
The People Awards, launched
in 2006, are designed to recognise the considerable efforts provided
by volunteers in our sport, whose hard work, commitment and dedication
keeps it running on a daily basis.
There are two sections
of the Scheme. The first is the volunteer Awards, which
are awarded for service to the sport, technical or developmental
excellence, or competitive support excellence.
Categories include Volunteer
of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Children’s Coach of
the Year, Development-Participation Coach of the Year, Performance-Development
Coach of the Year, High Performance Coach of the Year Official
of the Year, Young Official of the Year, Senior Referee of the
Year, Young Referee of the Year, Club of the Year and the Make
a Difference Award.
Player Awards are also
presented to both junior and senior players for competitive excellence,
improvement and inspirational efforts at any level.
All the awards will
be presented at a special awards night, which will take place
on Saturday 2nd October in Birmingham.
Further information
and the voting form can be downloaded here.
Closing date for applications is Thursday 1st July 2010.
