Coaching Bursaries Available For Three Pilot Assimilation Courses – 66% OFF!

Sport England over the last week have announced an under spend, and this money is to be used to direclty support the development of Coaches. Sport England in conjunction with Sports Coach UK and Skills Active have been successful in gaining approval in directing this under spend to coaching, which is welcomed by all Governing Bodies.

A total of 46 Governing Bodies have been asked to submit bids for this grant to support their work in building the Coaching System in line with the UK Coaching Framework. Judo, together with a number of Governing Bodies has been successful in receiving a small grant to support key work in their Coaching System development. The work being undertaken by the National Source Group for Judo has been largely focused on the development, endorsement and piloting of the Assimilation programme. This, together with other major targets on the UK Coaching Framework, has been the priority for the NSG in order to meet the March 31st deadline. As a result, Judo are grateful that the first 3 Assimilation pilot courses, (one to be held in the North, Midlands and South), can be supported by this under spend as part of a National Coaching Bursary. Future funding opportunities for existing coaches wishing to Assimilate to and gain UKCC status should be available and we are currently working at both local and strategic level to ensure that we communicate these opportunities to coaches in the future.

As this is a financial under spend, the timescales are very tight – a matter which is completely out of our control. This under spend has to be utilised prior to the end of the financial year. We have worked tirelessly over the last week to ensure that we have been successful in obtaining this grant and also to put the necessary processes in place to implement this. Please bear with the team as they try and manage this in the challenging circumstances to ensure that we can fully utilise this opportunity.
